What is Houston MediaSource?
Houston MediaSource, a non-commercial 501(c)(3) arts organization, is Houston’s Public Access Television channel. HMS receives funding from the cable franchise corporations through the City of Houston.
Our mission involves three main services:
- We provide free access to a cable television channel, open to all Houston area residents. Non commercial, public access television is pure free speech.

- We provide media education and equipment access to all Houston area residents. With the education and tools HMS provides, the community produces the only local, all original television channel.
Classes and equipment!
- Houston MediaSource provides free television access to other Houston area non-profits. Our community outreach programs bring media education to after school programs, television exposure to arts organizations, and free publicity for community services on the Community Bulletin Board (CBB).
